My name is Taz, and this is the story of my retirement from active duty to civilian life as a service dog. My hashtag is #tazoteausmc and this Day 9.
Today I learned that V-E-T spells place I don’t want to go. Next time I hear those letters, I’m hiding. The doctor said my leg is doing great, but then she stuck a big needle in it. WTF? I didn’t see that coming. I’d like to say that I was brave and growled at her, but I whined and hid my face in the small human’s arm. He says he doesn’t like needles, either.
After that, we went to a new place called Dog Park. I think food lady was trying to make up for the V-E-T. I made a new friend called Jersey Boy, and I was so excited, and we ran and ran and rolled in dirt, but the humans didn’t seem to care because food lady met someone called a dermatologist who lived in a place called Margate before he came here. They talked forever. Then he invited us to have dinner on his boat. Food lady and the boy are very excited about this, but I don’t get it. The guy was 463 years old, and he said his only family is my friend Jersey, and all he does is fly his plane and take boat trips back and forth to Margate. I thought that was sad, but the humans seem to think it’s great. People are so strange. Also what’s a boat?
On the way home, we stopped at the most amazing place I’ve ever been. It’s called Taco Bell. You tell the box that you want tacos and then someone throws them out a window at you into the car. It’s the best thing ever.
I wanted to keep going around in a circle and catching the tacos in the car, but food lady said she has stuff to do. I barked at her and then cried all the way home, but she wouldn’t go back. It’s awful knowing there’s a taco machine and not being able to get there.
