Today, I am grateful for THIS INSPIRATION. It’s not a pithy quote or a meme to make you think deep thoughts. It’s a different kind of inspiring example. Sister Regina Finnegan, and the other sisters we were blessed to know, was inspiring to so many young women. Years after I last saw her, I still think of her as my definition of a true lady. She was elegant in her wisdom, faith, strength, charisma, patience and humor. And she was strong. And generous. Even when angry, or tried to her limit by smart, rambunctious teenage girls, she never tried to break a spirit or inhibit enthusiasm; she only tried to help us act as the intelligent, strong, compassionate women she seemed to know we’d become. She’s been in my thoughts lately. And today, I’m grateful to her and all of the other sisters for all that they did for me while I was with them, and for the constant examples of how to live with faith, kindness and compassion that have stayed with me over time.
